I would have loved a little more Bokeh but she was fairly close to the truck still and I was shooting at F4.

Blake the Lens was a 24-105.

Thanks Promo, Ive seen all your examples floating around.

Good ole' Violet Twp. Been there many times. As far as the image goes, you said it was a candid and that's exactly what it is. The colors are good and I don't mind the DoF. What else would you put a good looking female firefighter in front of? I would straighten out the horizon a bit, though.

Ha, this was only my second visit to Violet Twp. in the heart of Pickerington. I've been to the "big Pickerington" plenty of times. (256) I see that I am a hair crucked.

Have you tried a B&W conversion? Sometimes this type of candid works very well in grainy B&W.

Actually, the truck in the back is not giving me anything at all. I'd love it more if somehow either the whole truck is reveal, part of it with fire host, or something telling me more that this is a "firefighter". I don't know what violet stand for the that state, but my first impression on the picture is that there is a women in uniform standing in front of a truck (could be just a plain tourist bus or something)...

It would. Candid, in photography terms simply means the subjects is acting naturally or spontaneously without being posed. Her looking at you whilst still acting naturally would not make the shot "posed"
