My gut feeling is that should anything new be coming out it will be around Christmas time to take advantage of the holiday shoppers but nobody really knows if or when for sure.

We have such a vast array of great cameras available today, why do we continue to want new ones? Today's cameras all produce amazing results. I really doubt a new one will give you any better photos.

If everyone felt this way there would never be progress. ;) Seriously, there are a lot of features that would help deliver better pics. Faster/better AF, improved dynamic range rendering HDR unneeded, improved video functionality, and features not even though about yet.

Top on my list though is a new sensor. It's time to move on from CMOS to some new technology. CMOS has gone about as far as it can go.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Yep, new gizmos are always fun...but there comes a time that the limiting factor for better photos is the person looking through the viewfinder. If you think today's cameras are limitting you from making absolutely amazing photos, you are wrong.

Even if it ihad a brand new sensor with no noise to ISO 102000?

I think that would be called the 1 or 6,000D or something.

Of course I don't, but there are limits and today and I just work around them. I'm not ready to have the manufacturers call it quits and live with what we currently have forever.

For instance, I have a pair of owls I would love to get a picture of. Unfortunatly they do not come out until well after the sun goes down. Even with the camera performing at it's extreme, that picture is unobtainable. Another example, I love natural HDRs. Today I have to take a series of photos and combine them. It would be nice to have a camera which has a usable 10~15 stop DR. It's something that needs to be worked around today. Or what about a feature that automatically focus stacks so that you don't have to do it in post. There are so many features out there that would improve the shooting experience.
