painted lens hoods.

I have just realised that my Canon oem lens hoods are painted. One (my 24-70 L hood) has just been scratched and underneath its white plastic.

I just assumed before now that they were made from black plastic and therefore scratches would not be as obvious as in fact this one is. I'm not overbothered, after all these things have to take a few knocks, but it did surprise me.

I just had the idea of a white lens with white hood..that would look wierd i guess..

Are you saying genuine Canon or third party.

Ii awesome. Canon should have made them like this for the 70-200's and other white lenses.

I get loads of positive feedback on it.

If its just cosmetics your worried about, just rattle can car spray paint will do the job on plastic. Just do thin coats and let dry between coats.

Good idea, I might just do that. Although I'm not worried by it, it's there to be used not looked at.
