Hey guys,

Haven't been to active recently because I have been traveling a lot. Anyways, I'm looking to get a boom-stand for one of my alien-bee strobes, but I'm not really too sure what I should be looking at. I don't want to drop 300 dollars on a stand. Any suggestions would be awesome...

Thanks!

I'm curious as well if there are less expensive options, but I think that the $300 option is what will be recommended.

You need to tell us a couple of things.

First, what do you want to put on the working end of a boom and how much does it all weigh?

Second, how far from the boom's pivot point do you want the working end to be?

Only when we know these things can we recommend something useful to you.

Aye. Good idea. Sorry that I didn't include that.

I will have a strobe w/ either a medium softbox or a 22inch beauty dish on it.

I'm not sure the normal range of these things, but maybe like 5 feet? I'm not sure the average length..

I don't own one or have any idea how the quality of the C stands from Cheetah compare to Avenger's etc...but considering that the quality of other Cheetah products consistently get a thumbs up, on paper this looks like a great option @ $139:
