I'd like to know if others here have had issues using the less expensive CF cards, compared to the usual suspects like Sandisk and Lexar. I'm looking to get a new card and there is quite a difference in price between say the Kingston's and the Sandisk and Lexar. Aside from the speed differences, are these lower end cards fairly reliable.

Thanks...

Get a transcend from newegg. They were cheap 16gb cards and have been great so far.

They're all more or less the same in reliability, and I'm pretty sure they all have lifetime warranties. The difference is certain brands have more cards that actually perform near the advertised speeds.

Transcend is dependable. I've used them and Kingston for awhile.

Watch for daily sales on B&H or Adorama for Sandisk and Lexar.

Costco had a 8GB CF card with a 100 free 4x6 for around $26 last month. It was a bargain. I bought 6 of them. They had 2 4GB SD cards as well and I bought 2 in a package with the 100 free coupon for that same price. For the model you have, an Ultra II card would be fine.

I use two Centon 200x 16 gb cards. They work perfectly and seem very fast. They were $34 each at Fry's

I watch newegg for their specials, I picked up two no name 16gb cards for $28 each during their 4th of july sale. Both have worked great.

I have been using the Transcend cards for years, and newegg.com (and newegg.ca) usually have great pricing on them, and if you watch for the free shipping specials it's even better :-) They hae had very good pricing on the Transcend 400X cards lately. I picked up the 64G 400X cards for $195 with free shipping, and they have had the 16G and 32G cards for good prices too.
