Nice attempt. First, level the camera. Curving and slanted buildings don't look right. Second, in order for these shots to be appealing, you need one static element of interest in clear focus. A cool old building, a parked car, something that stays still and provides a visual point of interest that the light trails move past or around. A busier street would also have been helpful.

Also, you don't want to take these shots in complete darkness. Try about 1/2 hour after sunset, when there is still some color in the sky. It will add visual interest, and you can use the sky to determine the proper exposure.

Hope this helps.

Keep shooting.

it sure does help, I didnt think to aim at a parked car or a building. i went out about an hour before sunrise thinking I was going to get some sensational sunrise shots but went out a little to early. I thought that camera was straight but I see what you men picture is kind of leaning.

Also, your white balance is off, it's very yellow.

Also, the highlights and the light trails appear to be ffe0fe instead of ffffff, very annoying.

I've been playing with white balance and I like the yellowish tints to the light I thought it gave it character. It's in the interpretation of the artist i think. but yeah its a little off but for my first time i expect it not to be good.

except the highlights don't appear to be a yellowish tint. It's a magenta tint.
