He is an adorable little boy!!! I love #3, those are the b&w conversions I try to do and never can! The first pic looks a little blown out to me but is still super cute!

Very cute shots and he has great eyes.

As mentioned you have some blown highlights and #2 seems a little soft to me. Also, maybe crop 1 & 2 a little tighter.

Is it really not good to have the blown light or is it a matter of preference? I tend to like it at times, and in this picture it doesn't seem to distract my attention away from the little boy in a negative way.

I like all three photo's and my favorite is the 3rd one too with the blown lights, though I am not a pro. just a Mom with a camera.

I strive to get my skin not blown i am constantly looking at my RGB levels to make sure the R channel does not go above 245 that's as high as skin should go after that you loose detail and it does not print well, yours is 255 that completely blown and white
I don't know its just how i have learned the way i was taught it was a no no but i will be interested to hear others perspectives on it i guess for art rules are made to be broken in some cases!;)

Thanks for all the comments.

As far as the 1st one being blown out. This was intentional and kind of the "style" I was going for. I bumped the exposure 1 1/2 stops over in processing. I felt with standard processing, the image didn't have that "edge" I was looking for.

I know it's not everyone's thing.
I've caught flack in the past for doing this. Just something different and not something I would use on every photo.

I'm also self taught and learning things every day.
So, I appreciate everyone feedback very much.

Thanks again.
