Ok I have done a little reading and am alittle confused. What is the main difference between the 1d mk3, 1ds mk3 and 1d mk4 and what are the benifits over a 5d mk2? I am not looking to upgrade, but just wondering. I know they have better iso range and af focusing and has higher fps, but is that it? And just for fun, would you trade your 5d mk2 for either of the mk 3's?

Better weather sealing on the 1D and 1Ds is what I can think off.

If I remember correctly more options to customize too.

Would I trade my 5D MK II - no most likely not because for me personally except the sealing there is zero gain (I'm not good enough)

Metering off of selected AF point instead of just the center.
Trade straight up for a 1Dsmk3, hell yes, but I don't see getting the offer. 5DII is wonderful.

Go ahead, spin the wheel.

Much much much better AF. Dual memory card slots. Weather sealed. The 1Ds models are full frame and shoot 5fps. The 1D models are crop sensors and shoot 10fps.

The 1-series are built like tanks. The 5-series are built like toys. The only reason I have a 5D2 is for full frame video. I rarely use it to shoot stills. I prefer my "ancient" 1Ds2.
