Hi friends

I have narrowed down my compact camera to replace my canon 5dm2 when i dont want to use it.
I am going on vacation in Oct 1st.

Now , after all the reading, I am thinking about getting samsung tl 500, mainly because it has been handling and also a flip / swivel LCD - important for me., and good reviews.

But I was wondering if the canon g12 or s90 simprovement will come out before then. At least I could just take a last look and compare these 3 products.

Does any one have an inkling at all

1. if G12 or S90 upgrade is already finished , but just waiting anouncement
2. when is it going to be ready for sale?

Or am i wasting time , just day dreaming.

I found this website http://canong12.com/ (external link)
Is this website true, they are anouncing it in aug 2010 in UK? that means they already made this camera and it exists already somewhere, ( not still designing it)

Please share with me your thoughts on whether i should wait a little longer before my vacation to decide or just buy the samsung camera now?

Thanks much

canon 5 d mark 2, canon 50 prime 1.2, canon 17-40 L , 580EXII , 430 EXII

This sentance form the hyper-linked article has a obvious mistake... "The G12 replaces the G11’s 14.7MP sensor with what it describes as a high sensitivity 10 MP CCD "

Should read "The G11 replaces the G10’s 14.7MP sensor with what it describes as a high sensitivity 10 MP CCD "

FWIW

There may or may not be an announcement this fall re: the G11-S90 successor. The Samsung looks like a very capable camera review (external link)

If you like the TL 500 and it has the features you want..why not just get it while you can instead of waiting for something that may or may not materialize?

If you go to www.canonrumors.com (external link) you can watch for the latest breaking announcements. A couple weeks ago he posted up something about the G12, SX30, S95, etc. Here's the direct link to the post since it's down the page a little now. Click Here. (external link) He also posted up that he expects to hear announcement on July 13th from Canon about some new products although he wasn't sure there was going to be any announcements for the Powershot line up yet.
