How do you pros track your prints in print? Let's say you have a series called "Italy 2005" with maybe ten images, each with a limited number of prints, and you have maybe 20-50 of each in print, some framed and hung in various places on display for sale, some mounted and in your inventory for sale/shipment, some printed and un-mounted, awaiting customers, etc.

Now, you are trying to figure out "Where is Arno River Sunset/Bridge in 11x14, #12 of 50?" Or "What images do I currently have hanging at the coffee shop downtown?"

Do you inventory at time of printing and serialize the images for tracking in an inventory program? Do you follow this through by adding customer name and city when sold?

Is there good software out there that supports this kind of inventory? Is there a good package that manages an entire photo-art business? Something with accounting, income/expenses, reporting, profit/loss AND the ability to track images against inventory?

How do others tackle this part of photo business?

I do not know if there is a specialized software, but I'm sure that some work in Excel (or even Access if you're able to program it, but I'd personally prefer Excel) will do the job fine without buying other software.
