My first post on this forum.

I just noticed that there is an astrophotography section in this forum. I shot this one a few nights ago. It's 40min worth of exposure shot with my canon XS.

Very nice - good tracking and focus, good red response from an unmodified DSLR.

What were the exposure parameters, i.e., number and length of subs, ISO? What optics were used?

The shots were done in ISO800 with an astronomik CLS EOS Clip filter.
Telescope used was an 80mm apochromatic refractor
guided in PHD with a 50mm finder with a DSI attached
Mount used was an LXD75 by meade
6*360sec and 2*600 sec shots, stacked in DSS and edited in CS4 with carboni's actions.
