I love my 70-200 f2.8 mkI, and i don't use much these days due to going to medium format side, but i know i need this lens anyway for sports, so if you want this lens i can sell for you, but i don't know how much do you want it, i don't want to sell it cheap, i may upgrade to mkII if i will sell it, if not doesn't matter for me because i don;t use Canon that much in my country and when i travel i use mostly wider lens, so something longer than 70mm is rarely in use for me.

Oh yea, I bought my 7D and several lenses from Best Buy on that plan. I have the money on hand now to pay for the lens but I like using their money for a while, paying it off early and improving my credit score even more. Thanks for the heads up though.I am getting close on pulling the trigger, I reckon my gear insurance will go up.

I've used the Mark I for about a year and found it was my most used lens. I bought the Mark II and found it to be really sharp. I shoot with primes and find that the Mark II is as sharp as my primes. I like to call the Mark II a tube full of primes :)

You can take advantage of Bingcashback promotion right now.... It'll cost $2131.95 shipped! Check out this thread for more details: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=896950

Thank you all for the advice.
I just hung up the phone with Best Buy to order the lens and their system is down. I wonder if that is an omen?

I favor fast primes myself, would you really consider the IQ of this lens to be on par with Canon primes?

my 70-200 2.8 IS MK2 is sharper than all my primes at f/2.8, including 85L II, 24L II, and 85 1.8.

5D Mark III, Samyang 14mm, 35LII, 85L II, 100L IS Macro, 24-105L, 70-200L 2.8 IS II. 580EX, AB400, AB800.

It looks like my local camera will be my next option, I will give them a call tomorrow. My next question is I have a 70-300 IS that I use from time to time as my telephoto. Would there be any need at all to keep this lens or trade it in? It is not a bad lens at all but it gets a little soft past 200mm even stopped down.

Sell the 70-300. :) It would just sit in storage. :)

f/4, 105mm, slightly cropped (mostly for aspect ratio) and softened a bit. Note the eyes - no sharpening whatsoever. This lens is too sharp for its own good!

I am right behind you with this statement!

The deed is done, the 70-200 f/2.8 MKII will be at my house on Friday. Man that thing was expensive but some good jobs/images should pay for it (including selling my 70-300 IS).
Thanks for all the help (spending my money).

Good to know Tareq.
Now that I have good equipment I need to locate my talent. I have an event coming Saturday where I hope to break in the new L lens.
