Hi GoneFission
I think what has ben bothering you about the pic is the composition maybr so i have cropped it to see what you think, also your conversion wwas no far out IMHO, i have made the road have more texture and darkened it, plus a touch off selective contrast control using the selective colour box in PS, but overall your originalis a lot better that loads ive seen on this forum, practice makes perfect, if you want a hands on tuition my addy at hotmail is ensonsdecroators@hotmail.com (external link)

Thanks very much for the nice comments!

austinjames - This was somewhere between those... I was driving on this road to go hiking in the mountains past these hills, and when I saw this I knew I needed to get a shot. However, I was caravaning with someone, so I had to keep going. Luckily I remembered this on the way back and was able to stop and get some shots. Please note that I have done a lot of work on this in post.

martin-images - I had considered a similar crop, but I ended up deciding to keep the full height. Hmmm, I will have to stare at these side-by-side some more, maybe I'll be inspired! Thanks for the critique and the compliment!

I think if you crop anything out of this image it will lose it's impact. And if you do, don't crop out the suns rays at the top.

Wow I love the first one (original) second crop is ok, but I agree that the rays being cropped out take away from this great picture. I do love the added texture in the road on the second version though!

The Path of Righteousness Redux

Medalta, Learner, myth337 - thanks for the nice comments!

After much pondering, I've figured out what was missing - the human element. So here's "The Path of Righteousness Redux":

I'm thinking of printing this up and trying to sell it as inspirational art - thoughts?

Again, thanks for looking!

have to be careful discussing the "r" themes here... the ground rules for the forum specifically dictate what not to do. ;)

however.. the picture does look like it may be of interest to some of the more dedicated brethren out there...

now the man is "On the Path of Righteousness"

nice edit work.
