Shooting in manual mode, I overexposed this photo quite a bit. But the fact that the super-bright area is leading the rider kind of makes this photo stand out to me. Does anyone like this accidental effect? I'm having trouble deciding

I wish the shutter speed was a tad faster, other than that I like.

Yeah I've been a few times, the most memorable being when I went down at that top turn on my motorcycle haha. Definitely a fun road though.

Shutter speed aside, the mixed feeling you're experiencing is because the photo is back lit. So, the rider is fairly close to being accurately exposed, but the background is blown out.

Ideally, you'd stop down a bit more... maybe about a stop or two. Then you'd bring the rider back up (shadow tool) in post processing.

Here's a similar scenario I shot this weekend:

I hope you dont mind, I have taken some mtb photos like this one and found that playing with selective color and unsharp mask can atleast give you a artistic photo out of something otherwise blown out in spots. It was fun dialing this one in.
