Just wondering if anyone made the move and if it's worth it.
Currently I have 500d (T1i) which I use mainly for bird shots with 100-400 L IS.
Or would the heavier 7D make more sense?
Grateful for comments.

I'm not a video guy and while I've done video on the T1i a few times and can appreciate the new features on the T2i, the limited buffer of the T2i in photography is a turnoff and there's nothing else really that much improved.

Lantz Senior Member More info | Id also say no. I wouldn't think it would be worth upgrading unless it had more benefit than what you would get from T1i to T2i

The video capabilities don't interest me all that much; but the comments about the 7D in relation to buffer, focus etc. make it seem like a better move. Canon 24-105 L IS USM,
