Went to outerbanks, North Carolina, spend a day at the beach and only took my G10 instead of my 5d2, and assorted lenses. took some of my favorite shots. Beauty was I did not have to worry as much about sand and being splash, and what not. the on board flash also came in very handy in bright sun a few times, as well as my 580 ex indoors a couple of times. here are some shots.

nice work as usual, kevindar. were you scale focusing or using AF - i notice most of these shots have kid movement, not the easiest to capture. also, fwiw, i find the 270ex makes a nice companion to the g-series. it doesn't rotate but the size matches very well and makes for a really small kit.

I was using auto focus. the nice thing is the large dof helps here. I used the on board flash at the beach. the 580ex2 is a actually physically bigger than the g10, but I had it with me. I have also used the 430 ex with it. the last one was taken with bounce flash. I dont use it enough to warrant another dedicated flash. thanks for comments.

Good stuff! I use my G10 a lot more than my DSLR just for the convenience.

Canon -> A1, 1D (gone), G10, XT IR, 7D and some glass of various lengths and colors
