hey guys,
it's a really helpful forum you have !
just wanted to go for a set of battery powered packs for location.
after some research, I've found Ranger RX interesting !
I chose Elinchrom mainly because of their lightshapers.
As the Ranger uses Freelight heads, just wanted to ask what kind of lightshapers I can use with it ? I'm very interested in Deep Octa and 7' Octa... is it compatible to the out-of-the-box or should I buy a speedring for it ?
I'm new to strobe lighting so please forgive me for the idiotic question !
THANKS

Welcome to POTN.

You can use any of the Elinchrom modifiers or accessories and you can also get third party speed rings and accessories. The Elinchrom mount is becoming more and more popular and there is a great selection of light modifiers and light shaping tools.

When you buy an Elinchrom softbox, octa or strip the proprietary Elinchrom speed ring is included and there's nothing else to buy. Just pop open the modifier and mount it to your strobe. Voila!
