A few photos from Ballynahinch Motor Club organized 2WD rally with 55 entries, including a few 4WD N4 cars. C&C welcomed as always to improve my skills.

your shutter speed is way too high. For motorsport panning you need to get a lot more motion in the wheels to give the sensation of movement otherwise you get the effect of 2 where it looks like it has been photoshopped in. I never go above 1/500 for motorsport. not even for the F1 :)

sorry to be critical but its just how I see it.

If they had movement they would all be brilliant!

Thanks chonhzilla!
ViperZS, it's not critical, it's advise :) I tried to do 1/200 1/160 etc but just with the massive 70-200 2.8 and canon 7D it was so hard to keep it steady in the wind (track is based beside airstrip) so all photos came out blurry, so I just gave up and went for sharp ones instead of blurry panned ones.

id lower the shutter speed more but other than that the shots are great and clear.

Reno_LV, this is a good clean set of pictures that you can be proud of.

At first I didn't even notice the lack of blurred wheels etc., as I enjoyed the quality of the pics ;)

edit: I love the pic of the flying C2 in the Flickr set!

A Nikon user loving this Canon forum!!!
