Lightroom on 32 bit & 64 bit PCs

Lightroom 3 was delivered today and I installed it on my desktop and then my laptop.My desktop is running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit version and my laptop is running Windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

Now I am wondering if the files, libraries etc. will be compatible. I am not even sure that they both support the same cameras.

Has anyone dealt with this yet? Will I even have a problem?

If it installs as a 32 bit program on your desktop, it will install like a 32 bit program on your laptop despite your laptop being 64 bit. It will be fine.

No, LR3 "recognizes" the OS and installs accordingly.

And, the only things you would "share" between the desktop and the laptop might be images and maybe xmp files? Or are you hoping to move the catalog back and forth via a hard drive? I believe you should be able to do all those things with no issues. When you first try it, do a backup of your catalog, but there shouldn't be issues.

I plan to store photos on both PCs and back them up on an external hard drive.
