Some advice please
Upgraded from a classic 1D to a 7D. Should I trade in a 28-70 f2.8 for a 17-55 f2.8?
Rented the 17-55 and T1i last year for a Washington trip and the pictures seemed as sharp and contrasty as the 28-70.

The 17-55 is the perfect zoom lens for a crop camera so long as the focal length works for you.

I agree. 17-55 would be better for a crop cam. 28-70 would be better on a full frame.

I loved the 28-70 I used to have, but the 17-55 is better for your camera ... no brainer.

That was my leaning. Need to look to trade them out soon prior to a Hawaii trip.

Thanks for the responses
