"ONE THREAD PER ITEM IS ENOUGH. MULTIPLE THREADS WILL BE DELETED. PLEASE ALLOW FOUR WEEKS BEFORE REPOSTING"

I was just curious as it seems that there are several who re-post their items for sale rather quickly when it gets bumped off the first or second page. If this is ok to do now I'd like to re-post mine every couple hours

I noticed the same thing. A couple that were posted within a day of each other I used the report icon, but after a few days they were still seperate intact threads.

I'll admit that I was guilty of this at one time, but I got warned rather quickly by the mods and my newer post was deleted immediately. Apparently it's a rule not enforced anymore  Oh well...

Curious myself. Have seen a couple of blatant bypassing of this marketplace rule in the last week. I understand folks feeling the need/pressure to sell an item for whatever reason, but IMO all it does is raise a red flag.

On the contrary, it is enforced quite often actually. Unfortunately the moderator staff here can't see all of the violations. We rely on the membership to inform us of these violations and try our best to enforce the rules. Please use the report post feature and point us toward the duplicate posts.

BTW, just a general note, but one of the other rules on the forum is that moderator action should not be discussed in public. If you have an issue with a moderator or the mods in general it should be discussed in private.

We were discussing the lack of action in this matter actually, but if you are referring to my post about my being warned in the past for re-posting then I apologize.

Now we are discussing semantics, but if you want to call the mods out for either not doing something, or doing something, it will not be tolerated. However, as mentioned in my post it was just a general note. ;)

Understood. What about closing a thread because the item "Sold" and then re-listing the item a day or two (Or even hours) later? That seems to be a tactic I see often here to get a the item bumped...I understand that it's probably frowned upon but is this something the mods take action against? Shouldn't the original thread just be unlocked by a mod and kept back in the order it was posted?

Sometimes the seller may have more than one of the same item. But if we find it to be the exact same item we generally take action.

So, If I sell my item today and lock the thread only to have the deal fall through at some point later do I...

A. Contact a mod and have them unlock my original post
B. Re-List the item in a new thread

I understand that sometimes deals fall through and not everyone is just bumping their item, but knowing exactly what to do in the situation would be helpful.

I believe you can unlock your own thread (but if not you can ask a mod to help) and that is what should take place. It is still the same item for sale even if the deal falls through.
