So, I purchased one of those $8 neoprene straps a while back, thinking it
was a steal for the price. It is indeed comfortable, and has a Spandex
layer on the outside of the strap. It's certainly long enough overall,
and the shock-absorbing qualities of the neoprene make it that much
more comfortable.
But I hate it.
The Spandex covers only one side, the adjustment buckles on the nylon-web
portion are constantly sliding, and the nylon keeps bunching up around the
hasps/loops on the camera body. Not having Spandex on the side which
rests against my neck makes for a slippery/sweaty experience, too.
Very uncomfortable.
Seeking some suggestions.
I don't mind paying a few bucks for a quality strap, but I can't justify some
of those $80-plus jobs. I don't want the non-slip inner surface, as I simply
don't need it. Spandex- or cloth-covered neoprene would be ideal. Sling
and holster-type contraptions are just not what I'm looking for. Quick-release
types are not necessary or even sought, but if that's a must for the other
features I seek, I'll consider it.
Am I asking for too much, or an impossible combination?
