All cool and good, but I made a point
of requesting that slings/holsters were NOT in my interest.

Thanks for the input, but it's not of my desires.

EVERY neckstrap is a "sling". ;)
and i dont even know what a holster is, aside from some kind of waistpack.

if someone asked me what the best neckstrap ive ever come across is, then this would be the answer (tholugh id like to upgrade to the rs-7 personally)

otherwise, just go buy a cheap $12-20 quataray neoprene strap.

Good for you, and thanks for the input.
Slings and holsters are not to my liking, and I've just placed an order
for the Industry Disgrace. Should arrive within a few days.

The Industry Disgrace is the one that takes away your tripod socket - right?

Wrong. It attaches just like any other neckstrap.

You can buy quick disconnects in the POTN store and attach them to the ID.

I don't like any "neck" straps, they're all uncomfortabe, including the Industry Disgrace which I tried. Plus I do not like having a camera bouncing on my chest. Often gets in the way and cannot be swung to the side, so I look for ones that can be worn on the shoulder or my usual method, cross shouldered. The Optech works great in that regard, for me, but I've seen that they also makes a Utility strap which has a contoured shoulder pad, designed for cross shouldered carry, which should work even better. I may order one.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

What didn't you like about the Op-Tech?
I can't find any images of them, other than the logo side.

IT wasnt that comfortable. The part where my neck goes was not wide enough. They should have made the neoprene go longer. The part where it attaches to the strap that goes to the camera, rubbed my neck :(

as soon as i put on the industry disgrace I was like wow this is a lot more comfortable.

Looks like this

if you were closer I would just let borrow it :( sorry for the late response

:o Whoops. So is it the R-Strap I’m getting it confused with?

I can’t yet vouch for them because they have yet to arrive but I’m looking at some rather unique attachments - “Adapt Its” from Op/Tech USA

...combined with Op/Tech swivel ends

onto a standard Op/Tech system strap.

This should (cross fingers) mean I’m going to get a strap which I can just Q/D right off with just the little “Adapt It” widgets left on the camera.

So no annoying strap “tails” left on the camera when the strap is removed.

Thanks to polobreaka of this parish for the idea.

Well, I want to thank everyone for your informative responses.

I am happy to report that I received the Industry Disgrace by Crumpler,
and it's an absolute treat as compared to the springy Neoprene cheapos.

It's an extremely comfortable strap, much more so even compared to the
Spandex-covered Neoprene Op-Tech and similar straps.

The shape and design for the portion around the back of my neck is a huge
improvement over the straps I've used before, making it a comfortable
wear all day long, whether over the back of my neck or over my shoulder.
I used it for an all-day outing during the past Concours event, and was never
discomfitted by it all.

All in all, this is an exceptionally comfortable strap at a price that will not
break your bank account, and it costs a helluva lot less than some of the
other 'preferred' fancy rigs available.
