Hi all guys,
a quick info...I just bought a G6 for IR modification, but i saw that my last DPP release doesnt't open G6's raw. My DPP release is 3.8.1...the last I suppose.
Adobe CS5 works well.

Any suggestion is welcome!

Thanks in advance.

Felix.

I have encountered the same problem with my G9. DPP version 3.8 won't open the RAW files from that camera either. I had to open them in PS. Interestingly, I could see them in ZoomBrowser but it would not port them over to DPP for processing.

Any comments would be appreciated.

EOSFelix:

I did a search in the Forums since my post on this and found out that you need to use ZoomBrowser for the G9 to open and process RAW files and then convert them to JPEg.

According to the post on that thread DPP only started to work with the G10.

Try ZoomBrowser with yours.

It will open the file immediately as RAW.

Then select your image(s) and go to Tools and select "Processing RAW Images" from the dropdown menu and then it's just like working in DPP, maybe not as full featured but it does the job.

After processing just go to File, Save Images and it let's you select the format and quality you want for the final product.

Hi Delivery Man,
just to inform you that ZoomBrowser works properly with my G6, and the developed raw are better then Adobe CS5 or Lightroom 3.7...they seems more crispy and sharp! My impression is that ZB is optimezed for canon files!

Thanks again for you support.

Bye,
Felix.

Very happy that it worked for your G6. That's why these forums are so valuable. I've had really great success getting tips and info I have needed so it was nice to be able to help someone in return.
