I am looking for a reasonable quality ballhead that screws together with a reasonable grip.
I found the Giottos MH 1304-110C as described here:

http://www.adorama.com/GTMH1304110C.html (external link)

but wonder what screw mount it has on the lower part (not visible in the picture, and even the website does not provide such info) and if it will it fit with something like this:

http://www.amazon.com …JCI5Q/ref=pd_bxgy_p_img_b (external link)

Are all these ball heads following a standard? Who knows more about such combinations? Perhaps there is an easier solution? When looking at mini-tripods I seem not to be able to find one that is sturdy and high-qualilty enough and also provides legs that can work as a grip...

Thanks,
A.

being that the grip screws into the bottom of the camera, it probably has a 1/4" threaded stud.

The ballhead uses a 3/8" threaded hole so you'd need a reducer fitting inside the ballhead base to thread onto that grip.

I would upgrade a bit... That Giottos is really bottom line..

You want a head which has a quick release mechanism, preferably an Arca Compatible quick release. Adorama sells a Flashpoint F-2 Arca Compatible head which should do the trick. I use an F-1 on a converted SLIK Pro 330DX tripod and the little F-1 head is fine for that purpose. The F-2 is a bit more robust.

There are more expensive heads on the market but, the Flashpoints are adequate for the purposes of most photographers.
