Jan 21, 2014 20:10 | #6467 Glad I found this thread. Great inspiration. I'm looking to add a wide angle lens for architecture and real-estate. I'm a Canon shooter do I'm looking very closely at the 16-35L f2.8 II. Anyone using that for this type of photography? Thanks. - Alfredo -

As I recall it's along I St. NW, just east of the Farragut West Metro station (18th St. exit). I was headed to Farragut Square so I could go up Connecticut Ave. I just saw the building and had to get the picture. Graham

Jan 22, 2014 21:09 | #6472 So is yours. Unfortunately I didn't have that wide of a lens on when I took it, so I chose to compose it a bit different. Funny thing is, if I had been the other side of the street, I probably would have missed it entirely. EOS 6d, 7dMKII, Tokina 11-16, Tokina 16-28, Sigma 70-200mm F/2.8, Sigma 17-50 F/2.8, Canon 24-70mm F/2.8L, Canon 70-200 F/2.8L, Mixed Speedlites and other stuff.

I do a lot of this work (mostly interior/exterior design) using a 7D and the EF-S 10-22 (a really fantastic crop lens), and I was also looking at the 16-35 when I went full frame. After some talking to people, I ended up saving a lot of shekels by going with the 17-40L. It's not f/2.8, but for the type of work I'm doing, I don't need 2.8. And I further saved money by buying used. Got a scorching deal on a terrific lens. Image hosted by forum (674766) © amcrory [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. I'm planning to shoot stars with it in addition to architecture and landscapes. - Alfredo -
