Jun 19, 2015 16:44 | #7150 Photographed this house for the builder. In my area, the better houses tend to large house with ornate stone work on the outside and interesting sight lines inside but never the sleek, open look of this house. It was a nice change of pace. I merged 4 or 5 of the 7 (1 stop) brackets I made on site in LR 6's HDR merge (I am finding the LR 6 HDR merge to be better than LR Enfuse) and then bourht the windows in a little more in PS. The outside views were magnificent (it's on a PGA level golf course) but I still want them to fade a little to retain depth in the image. It always looks to me like windows that are too equally balanced look more like paintings on the wall than outside views. Jun 19, 2015 21:48 | #7155 Thanks everyone. Glad you like them. digital_AM wrote in post #17603900 Great job rgs! That kitchen shot is so clean. How do you control the shadows in the corners that generally result from the HDR merge? I think both LR 6's HDR merge and LR Enfuse are better about the shadows than other software but I still get some. First I make a 7 shot bracket in the field (1 stop apart) but usually only use 4 or 5 shots and they are all adjacent ones so they are never more than 1 stop away from the next one. That keeps from getting "holes" in the brackets where the software has limited information to work with. It seems to smooth the merge somewhat. I usually don't use the darkest one and I won't use any of the light ones that have blown highlights that have bled into neighboring areas which seems to prevent many of the halo effects around highlights. Finally I make liberal use of LR's adjustment brush (and other tools as well) after the merge. Since LR HDR merge leaves me with a DNG, I still have a lot of RAW material to work with.
