I agree the stools on the far side are distracting. Instead of trying to "force fit" them in, just leaving them out would be best (IMO)

I have a pretty big gap in my lens setup, going from a 10-20mm zoom to a 50mm prime. But, occasionally I get to use my 50mm for exterior shots and I really love the difference in perspective.

20mm:

Personally i think the stools are fine, you know what they are and you can see the tops of them in the foreground. Nice work as always.

Hi all,

I have been lurking in this thread for a while, wanting to learn and all . . .

Well now I must move for my job, so I decided to take the plunge and start serious photography of houses (first victim, my own). So, I did a few today, shot with 4 Godox 860's and a 16-35 2.8 II. I figure I will have my realtor use these . . . gotta be better than the P&S some agents use . . .

Am I missing anything? Comments welcome.

So many distracting shadows in that second one. Id get the layer without them and paint them out

Yep, I'd do the same for the first one as well while you're at it.

Thanks. Lots of work involved. It might be easier to just remove the light fixtures before I shoot!

Do you see the same level of shadows without your speedlights?

No, it is a self inflicted wound. My first work at this arena, and I was excited about how well the room itself turned out, I forgot the ceiling shadow details. I think I have a solution of blending different exposures into a single image. I will continue to hang out here and learn!

Multiple strobes that cover the same area will often give these bad multiple shadows.

Since you are shooting in daylight, I would open the windows and simply start with a tripod and natural light exposure. Then turn on your flash and bounce at the ceiling at -2 FEC to fill in shadows softly. When you balance ambient with single flash you should get very little shadows. Remember to focus on walls, windows, floors, and connection with other rooms.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I re-shot focusing on the walls, floors, etc.

This was a fun kitchen renovation in a mid-century style home.

That's me in the first top image here, anybody else incorporated themselves in an interior shoot?

Much better RE photo, but you have to straighten the verticals, and that is easier when you shoot at eye level and use a bubble level to confirm the camera is perfectly straight.
