Well that would definitely make sense then. Now that you mentioned it though, I can't stop looking at it. Thanks! haha

It caught my eye immediately. Even after the explanation, I'm still trying to figure out the need for the gutter and downspout.

Did some exteriors today. Pure overcast so naturally I went with some sky replacements.

This home in post #8522 has something similar. I'm not totally convinced it's a fireplace.

it has a little shed roof over it...if you are in a place that gets a lot of rain, its better to collect any rain that runs off the roof...letting it just run off without collection it will do damage to the soil/grass/plantings below it.

Looks similar...I wonder if the OP cloned out the vent device.

Could be a local building code requiring all roofs to gave a gutter and downspout to channel water.

I'm sorry I mentioned it. ;-)a We've spent the past few posts discussing this thing more than the actual photography. However, I can't help myself.

I would hope that the architect wouldn't place a fireplace where it would seem to have to be based on the location of the bump out in #8522. It looks like it would be in a corner of the room, but not a corner fireplace.

That house does have a fireplace but it's in the living room centered (The peak of the roof barely visible is where it's located).

I like the first shot a lot. I would maybe try to light some of the darker areas even a tiny bit or do a separate exposure for them. Second one I would dial down the CPL just a little to get rid of the uneven polarizing effect.

Thanks for the input - as a Northeasterner, that New Mexico sky is magical and it may look as I've gone overboard. I understand your comment. In the second photo, architect (seen in the photo donning the Panama hat) and I discussed to keep the sky as presented here to emphasize the white of the roof. It was one of those moments where stars aligned with mother nature cooperating and contrail appearing at the right time. One of my favorite moments from the assignment.

I actually really like the guy standing there. It works.

What kind of building was this?

We get those skies in Oklahoma as well. Someone always thinks they're unnatural but they're not.
