Twilight Shots are so amazing. How much work went into this? Any supplemental lighting?

Yeah, honestly it was a difficult shot. I knew it was going to be rough. Ill post a video showing before and after. Luckily the chairs being white helped a ton!

killer work!

I just got the a7iii and I'm excited to post some commercial work with it (if I ever get my head above water from all these stupid real estate shoots!)

Now you have me looking into a Sony body  I mainly shoot food, cocktails and interiors now. I wonder if there is a better camera out there in the same price range as the mkIV. You think Sony would be a better option?

I just hopped ship from Canon finally and I'm so glad I did. I can keep all my canon glass for now, or indefinitely if I want and the adapter works flawless. Hell, for the price of the 5DIV you can get the a7riii which is basically the a7iii with 42MP instead of 24...it sits neck and neck with the Nikon D850... The a7iii is $1200 cheaper though and I don't think I would utilize the larger MP and would get slowed down a lot of the times.

The 5DIV doesn't even have as good of DR as the a7rii did (I think it's in the 13s?). The a7riii and a7iii have 15 stops. It's pretty crazy. Only downside is CamRanger doesn't work with Sony yet (and may never) which is OK with me because CamRanger is a POS imo and doesn't play nicely with my android lol.

I think you would really like the rendering of Sony files, your style would fit it nicely, the color graduations are so much cleaner on the Sony files, and they have so much headroom to play...

the 5dIV has no where near the latitude on editing...I tested one side by side to my A7R2...it was night and day. The biggest hurdle is really getting past the menu system, which at first is convuluted and confusing...and after a while its just convoluted but you start to learn it...and the newer bodies have a custom my menu feature that lets you put a bunch of your often used settings in that menu for easy access. For architectural work, the Sony is so much easier.

Okay so now you are really getting me tempted. I used to worry because I shot so many portraits. But now its rare I do that because a lot of the print magazines I shot for have died.

Im going to do some research into Sony tonight, thanks everyone!

Why would shooting portraits worry you? I do portraits with the r2 and a9...we have a whole thread here on POTN for it...

I don't know actually. I guess it was something embedded in my mind from when Sony started coming back in the picture. I had read somewhere that it wasn't a good studio camera and haven't looked into any since. That's my ignorance really!

Does anyone have a good tutorial on the hue/saturation layr for things like only modifying the color of lights specifically in a real estate photo, a lot of times when using HDR or Luminosity for outdoor "Twilight" type shots you get a harsh yellow color temp for the lighting and need to change it, looking for a way to simplify my workflow for these types of changes?

Thanks a lot

Eye Af is amazing for portraits on the a9, re and 7III...the DR is nice for working in challenging light too.
