This is a shoot I did for a local contractor who built this restaurant.

A lobby for a hotel that I have been involved with since early 2014...finally got to photograph it recently.

How did you plan that sunset?? Terrific!

Sunset Hawaii time was 6:15 pm and started shooting around 630pm for about 20 min.

Shot 1 House lighting 100 ISO F8 15m Manual Focus Shutter I can't remember

I had ad600 flash in the upstairs (you can actually see the flash)

Another ad600 flash in the downstairs living room

2 ad200 flashes for the outside patio

messed up here - see the blur in the trees? Forgot to get a faster shutter to account for the wind

Used a strong LED light to paint the pool (the built in pool light was not accentuating the blue tile as well)

You can see some mistakes such as the glow around the palm tress against the ocean

That is the back of Diamond Head Oahu Hawaii in the distance

This is an area called Portlock in Hawaii Kai

I had been shooting the house all day (kind of - had another shoot down the road) because of the lighting and getting the proper bedroom window pulls. I knew exactly where the sun was going to set and being from Hawaii you get to know sunset well plus I had everything set an hour prior.

thanks. I spent a bit of time on Oahu and Maui, I couldn't figure out what the lights were across the water.

The lights are from the back of Diamond Head and Kahala
