Came across this while walking this evening; unfortunately I hadn't my 100-400L on the 500D (T1i) - but I couldn't let the opportunity go, so I had to make do with my walkaround 24-105L IS. Hence this is a crop, 1/15th of frame approx.

He tried a few times, dipped it in the water, then tried again. A few minutes later he flew off with the catch, so I don't know the outcome!.

That's pretty darn cool!

A few weeks back I saw a GBH catch a flounder around that size. It picked it up and put it down a couple of times, finally dropping it in the water and flying off. I guess it realized the fish was too big to swallow.
