Late to the party...but I have the ef dg 500 super...
It's a decent enough flash...but really spend the extra hundred and get a 430eii...
The hot shoe foots on the sigmas are plastic and mine has just cracked...You really really want to invest in something that isn't going to break. Overal the build quality is OK but nothing spectacular
and
to agree with another poster...they do have problems with cybercyncs...
though mine has an inconsistency of not firing about 5% of the time and thats 5% too much...
use the gaffers tape...it helps a tad..

oh and if you use the high speed sync flash feature...its really annoying because if you drop below 1/250th it resets itself and you have to go back into its menus to set it up again..

a good flash...not a great flash.

There is no problem with the 500 DG Super and my XSi. Of course, a reverse engineered flash may have compatibility problems with future bodies, but there is no guarantee of compatibility or incompatibility.

it works with my 30d but not with my 7d. I called sigma and they no longer stock parts for this model, so they were unable to do s firmware update.

I have one and it works fine with my 1d3 and 1ds2.

I use it as a master and have upto 3 550ex's off camera.

I cant get it to work with radio triggers though :(. I use C301 triggers and they work fine with my 550's and a couple of old manual flashes.

Is there a mod i can do to get it work with these triggers?

Mine works fine with my triggers since I taped up the optical slave. Just switch to C0, C1 or C2

I have two 500 DG Supers. Use them as my strobist kit for OCF. Never had a problem with using Cybersyncs with them. I'm pretty careful with my gear and they have held up for the past 3 years.

I use my 580EXII with my flash bracket for on-camera flash. I got the 580 specifically for high speed sync b/c the 500 would drop high speed sync below 1/250 like rocker83 said.
