I've started using multiple brands of cameras, but I really love the people and community here on POTN, i'd love to be able to talk about them here. Is there any chance of adding a generic "Other Brands" forum under "Equipment Talk" so we can still enjoy the community?

Same here. While I switched to another brand, I have stuck around here because I think it's one of the most friendliest forums out there.

Given that Nikon is the main "other brand", I'd like to see a Nikon forum that can have lots of threads and another for "Other Brands".

5D & 7D (both gripped), 24-105L, 100-400L, 15-85, 50 f1.8, Tamron 28-75, Sigma 12-24, G10, EX-Z55 & U/W housing, A1+10 lenses, tripods, lighting gear, etc. etc.

It should be coming with the new forum software. It is better to do it right, than do it fast.

Great, thanks Skip. Adding a subforum would be a good way to do it right, and fast, wouldn't it? We're ok poking around on our single thread for now, but it'd be nice to have a little more space :)

hahahaha oh yeah I haven't noticed your gears.. but I do noticed that you started that thread..how come you went back or switched to uhhmm well canon?

EDIT: I might be wrong, but that thread was started by you due to the increasing numbers of nikon threads? so you have always been a canon shooter?

we're all there Mike. We just keep losing some of the salient info in the midst of other posts (photos, questions etc).
