17-55 for IR?

Does anyone have experience using the EF-S 17-55 in infrared photography? I have read at least one report either way claiming that the lens is suitable or unsuitable (shows hotspots). Most of the commonly-cited websites with lens reference lists do not show the 17-55. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 17-55mm is on on that list, but from what I have heard it does work just fine, but focus is just slightly off unless you have a software change to compensate for it.
