Don't ask me why I bothered doing this to a basic guidescope (the blue Skywatcher Short Tube 80) worth a couple of hundred dollars, if that. I was having trouble with flexure, so decided to upgrade the focuser to a GSO 10:1 one.
I was browsing around another forum and came across this fake carbon fibre contact-like stuff. Thought it might look pretty cool jazzing up the old cheap-looking SW ST80. It's 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fiber Vinyl Film Wrap. I bought 2 x A4 sheets for $14 each off eBay

Here's the result. I reckon it looks pretty sexy. Sorry I didn't take before shots, but it's just one of these
underneath all that.
