Is there any setting in aperture 3 or lightroom 3 that would come close to the noise reduction power of topaz de noise 4? its not a problem using topaz other than the amount of time it takes to render each photo. i find that whether i use the de-noise option under raw tuning or the noise reduction slider in the adjustment panel it seems to do nothing.

anything thing i'm doing wrong?

The noise reduction slider in Aperture doesn't do much of anything. You sometimes have to look very hard to see the results, and the results aren't always that great.

The noise reduction slider in Lightroom 3 does plenty. If you slide both the luminance and color sliders all the way to 100, it can just about turn your picture into mush in some circumstances. If you don't see any results from that, then you may very well be doing something wrong.

Ap 3's noise reduction is much improved, but I still prefer Nik's Dfine.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.
