If so what do you used them for and how do you distribute them?

I'm thinking about getting some done for HS Senior/Family Portrait marketing while Overnight prints has their $15.00 off of anything sale.

I'm just not sure how I would get them out to the right people. I'm only thinking about getting about 100 printed and maybe just handing them out randomly to people that I see or maybe trying to leave some at certain small businesses.

Any other ideas or suggestions appreciated, especially from anyone who has actually done something like this.

Buy in bulk and then do a mail drop. No mailing lists required then.

If you don't mind how many cards do you normally order and how much for the cards, then how much for mailing.

I checked the site but you have sign up to check prices. Signing up = more emails from another company. :(

use an email account you dont use to sign up with, keep it for these purposes specifically. that keeps the spam down off of your biz email acc.

those emails from other companies are very valuable. i always use the discounts companies i use send me from time to time. so far I've saved $250 on framing supplies for all of the times i've used 5% coupons from matshop lol.

in marketing materials i have several hundred in savings alone from one company.

though for me, i would order 500-2000. then the mail drop fee at the post office is $86.00. they put everything in the slots for you or the mailboxes in some cases

it will be different for you most likely, being in the USA, i'm not sure what the fees are for stuff like that.

I never heard of mail drop service. Do you mean the post office just puts one in everyone's mail box while the postcards last? Do they even bother to put the persons address on the label?

this is very interesting.

Ive been using google maps and whitepages reverse address lookup to get the house numbers in neighborhoods that I wouldnt mind having me do pictures, judging on the value of the houses. This could be another way to do it.

Oh its in Canada. I was thinking you were in the states for some reason. I read your other message as since you were in the states, you dont know what its like in other countries.

I could have used that a few years ago then. :) but not now.

I only use postcards for quick notes to current clients, such as session reminders.

This sounds like the best use of postcards, according to marketing seminars I've attended a 3% response to a mail campaign is very good. Of those responses it's up to you to close the deal. I know someone who recently did a targeted mailing of 500 pieces, response was 0%. The crap economy probably figured into that but they're generally looked upon as junk mail.
