Question about Date Stamp on G11

Hi all, new user here.

My boss bought a Powershot G11 in Switzerland a few weeks ago. We were trying to set it up to date stamp the photos, and according to the manual I downloaded from the internet (US Version), it can do it, and it shows where on the menu, but that option is not on the menu of the camera.

Is there a different version that would be sold in Europe as opposed to the US?

Is there a way to update the software on the camera to be able to have that feature?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I do not have the G11 to test.
The only applicable warning that I see in the manual is "The date can not be recorded if you are shooting RAW images". (English manual page 66)
Additionally, check the shooting modes where date stamp is not available in the fourth row from the bottom on pages 182-183.

The option is in the Main Menu.

It's on page 66 of the manual.

I'll have to check that, I know he had the camera set for the highest possible photo quality.

I would expect that the option would be there, just greyed out as not currently available, bu we will see.

Thanks for the tip.
