A friend of mine is into flying R/C helicopters, and asked me to take some pictures for him. It's awfully hard to get a nice clear picture of one of these things as they are buzzing by at top speed. Here is one of the better shots I got as he was coming in for a fly-by.

One day I'll get myself a better white body and maybe more of the 800 shots I took will have turned out.

A couple more... I slowed the shutter speed to try to get more rotor blur.

nice, I helped with photo coverage at a big aerobatic event for helis and planes, the helis will give you whiplash if you try to track them. run a search on youtube for XFC 2010:lol: I took 2262 photos that weekend. though this years I skiped the heli demos to save memory for the other stuff. heres one of my old ones from a few years ago during a team flight, keep up the good work, and if you see it enough youll want one.

..., and if you see it enough youll want one.

I did have one... an eFlite Blade 400. It takes a TON of practice to do anything more than simple hovering. OR, it gets very expensive very quick. I race R/C cars no problem, but for some reason, add in that 3rd dimension and I just can't get the hang of it. I still have a little CX2 to practice with in the house. Where a crash does not destroy anything.

I'll stick with photography for now. :)

SPORT YES. youtube XFC 2010, or IMAC if you can win money doing something then isnt that a sport, Sorry if im right to the point I fly non compitition aerobatics for shows, but I know folks that do compete all over the country and they take this stuff just as serious as anyone tossing or kicking a ball around and winning good money at times.:!:

Absolutely agree... If Pool, Darts, HorseShoes... or NASCAR, etc. can be considered "sports" why not R/C ?

I've never done it personally, but have watched and photographed it on occasion.

Try flyingdriving/racing a plane/heli/car/truck etc. that costs anywhere from $100 - $20,000 in a high stakes competition where time & technique are KEY. One wrong move and your out $ XXXX of dollars. Money, Competitions, Activities, STRESS... sports are sports, some are fast, some are slow, some only involve moving your thumbs  but why not consider it a "sport", what other category would it fall under? Heck, they even have video game competitions nowadays and they consider THAT a sport... ???

Back on topic.... OP, I like #1 the best, the others show too much motion in my opinion. Only time I like showing that much motion is when the go inverted! Again, just my preference.
