What lighting methods do you use during weddings and do you have test shots comparing your methods to others you have tried?

What flash attachments do you use if any?

Sto-fen, soft box, lightsphere, index card, bare flash?

Few people who understand light will use a stofen or lightsphere. Your poll entirely misses off camera lighting too.

I use bare flash, bounced, sometimes with the index card. I use radio triggered off camera light in a soft box. I almost never use umbrellas. I photograph receptions like this.

your poll needs multiple choice ability. I use bounce, cards, umbrellas, stands. It depends on the venue and what structural bounce surface are available. Sometimes I use the sto-fen shot through an umbrella to diffuse the light a bit more.

Bounced (with card if I'm bouncing of a ceiling), off-camera, and umbrellas.

Thanks for the feedback! Can I edit the form to include this other options? I thought I could but can't figure it out.

It's also missing what type of flashes, what camera it's mounted on and of course, what we eat for breakfast before a wedding.

Read the poll... it's obvious the OP is asking about on camera flash attachments.

Yes, I was talking about on camera dlash attachments. TIM brings up some other point though that I am interested in as well. I love his reception set up. So let's keep the focus on on camera attachments but you can comment on other set ups as well for off camera lighting and multiple light set ups.

That is what I have been reading...that nothing is better than an index card. For everyone who uses index cards, how do you rig it up on your flash? The only attachment I have ever used is a sto-fen omnibounce but don't use it much anymore

Tim,

I have 2 430EX flashes and 2 pocketwizards. If i wanted to create a set up similar to yorus could I get by using the 430's and just adding one more pocket wizard and not have a flash on camera?

Thanks!
