I'm very close to purchasing this package:
HP Pavilion p6516f-b Desktop PC Bundle - with HP 2010i 20-inch Diagonal HD Ready LCD Monitor

AMD Athlon II 630 Quad-Core Processor
Memory (RAM) 6GB

Type of Memory DDR3
Memory Expandable to 16GB

Hard Drive Size 1TB
Hard Drive Type SATA
Optical Drive SuperMulti DVD Burner with LightScribe Technology

Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Network Card
10/100/1000Base-T network interface
Video Graphics ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics

Will be $580 with coupons at Staples.

I kind of had a mental budget of $800, and was planning on Dell, but this seemed like a much better deal, plus I could maybe spring for Lightroom this way . . . Is our primary home desktop - last computer totally died. I do most of my processing via DPP and Elements and am an amateur photography hobbyist. I'm planning on a T2i or 7D upgrade soon as well, so I'm looking for a computer with the power to deal with some vid editing.

Not into gaming at all.

Thanks in advance for any advice you have!

Now that's funny as I am looking at the exact same bundle at either Sam's or BB. I can no longer remember as I have looked at so much over the last couple days.

The video card is a little weak and the monitor (from what I've seen) isn't great for photography. Other than that, it seems OK. HP doesn't have the greatest track record either (Consumer Reports).

SOunds like a good deal to me. I had always used HP until last time I upgraded and went with ASUS (got more for the same amount of money), and never had any problems with them.
