I braved the monster mosquitoes of the central Indiana farm fields and grabbed these shots tonight. C&C always welcome.

The strike in the first photo actually hit the tower that I used to focus the image. Here's a tighter crop, it looks like I also may have missed the focus just a bit:

awesome shots. yea focusing is always an issue wehn getting lightning from a distance for me

but still awesome stuff. i wish i had flat areas i could shoot from here

you shoot in raw? interested in seeing 1. with a cooler temp (more blue)

Yep, I do shoot raw. Good idea on the cooler temp, I've lowered the color temp from 5250 down to 4100 and I do think it looks better:

I actually prefer the original colour temperature. It's warmer and makes the whole vista look more dramatic and awe-inspiring.

That's a great lens. I might have to look into it, but i seem to remember it's not full frame capable. I really need to investigate live view focusing too; i always make a complete has of it.
