These are very good quality shots, however I'm not too keen on number one, looks are little dark on my screen.
2, 3 are fantastic.
4 slighty underexposed And colours look a little flat, so an easy fix.
5 is beautiful.
Not too keen on 6 but a nice warm solemn expression.
6b - 12 are all very good.

Wow! These are really nice - until I got up to #12. Gee - wasn't there a better background than a refinery?!!! Unless he/she is the owner of course...

But seriously, #5 would have to be my favourite. The soft light is beautiful.

ken.

Not bad for your first time, nice DOF.

1 - Underexposed.

2 - Fine, sweet moment.

3 - Solid shot

4 - Underexposed

5 - Needs some fill, and to edit her undereye circles.

6 - Too dark.. I know the light was uneven, but I would brighten it up a bit.

6b - I would take some of the yellow out.

7 - It's okay

8 - Great moment, but a bit underexposed.

9 - I dig the framing but the light is harsh.

10 - Relaly harsh and uneven light

11 - I dig the idea but the couple is lost in the photo for me, due to the lighting.

12 - I don't mind the background, I think it's kind of cool, but I dunno, I think a full shot of the couple would have been better.

BTW - You are going to get yelled at for embedding more than 8 images.. Dem's da rules, you know.

I am super cool n' stuff.

First great shots! second one thing living in a city is you get to go through and edit out graffiti on stuff. i would like to see that gone off the back of the bench in #11. Makes the picture nicer you could say.

Oh and the Refinery is actually a famous landmark in Seattle, WA
There was not much I could do because the park was filled with people. There was like 4 people in #12 I had to remove in Photoshop. Thank god for CS5

I seem to be getting a lot of 'underexposed' feedbacks. Im going to look at these on another monitor to see find out myself. Thanks again guys, keep them coming
Or I just love shadows?

were you not allowed to use flash at the venue? Many of the shots look good but could benefit from some bounced flash for fill light.

I did use bounced flash but I did dialed down the Flash Exposure Compensation so that it would not overpower ambient. Unfortunately, this technique is not perfected yet, I get some shot with nice shadow and some with very harsh shadows.
Back to practice some more
And I also used cheap lithium ion AAs for my Speedlites, another reason why some shot did not get the fill flash

Moderator's Note: I linked images after 8, as that is all that you can have in a thread. Please review the IMAGE POSTING RULES. The 6b I left as 7.
