Which Optech Strap?

Hi all,


Just picked up a used 5D and need a new strap - it'll be used with everything from a 50mm to a 300mm lens.


Was looking at the OpTech E-Z Comfort Strap but I also noticed the much more luxurious looking OpTech Pro Camera Strap.

Has anyone used either?
Was going to throw caution-to-the-wind and get the Pro model but the quick-release clips leave me a little concerned about safety / security - anyone had any issues?

Any other strap manufacturers I should be looking at?

Your final question will probably be answered by people posting their favourite strap for the umpteenth time here. Do a search for "strap" or similar in this subforum, and you'll come up with R-Strap, Lumaloop, CC, and all the other things people use.

I have the EZ Comfort strap with a Rebel XSi and various light lenses.
It works very well. I chose it over the pro because like you, I was hesitant to have quick release. I also wanted a more compact strap than the Pro.
I'm very happy with mine!

I have one of these and I am very happy with it.

I've got every color of the POTN strap with extenders for 2. It's wasn't hard for me to love them as they are comfy and hold a lot of weight without making my life miserable. Supporting the forum is a good idea as well.

I have the OpTech Pro Camera Strap and its very good. I first worried that the buckle will give way and drop my camera. Been using it for a yr now and nothing happen. I am sure it will stay that way if it isn't user error. One thing I like about the buckles is when I don't need the neck strap, I can remove that and the strap is shorten.

I have two (2) of the OpTech Pro straps sold here by POTN. Support your brothers & sisters. You can't go wrong.

Whoa!! I had no idea there were POTN straps for sale--I may have to get one, should interchange with my optech canon strap.

i had the ez comfort strap.
i liked the bounciness but the strap was just not wide enough

They will. I have them on all my DSLRs and a pair of heavy binoculars (Canon 15x45 IS).

OpTech Super Classic is my strap of choice for cameras that are not heavy 1Ds or that do not have supertelephotos hanging off them.

Optech Utility strap swing, combines the great optech shoulder pad with black rapid like sling functionality.
