Stars while camping

Went camping and was able to take a few pics of the night sky. I guessed on the focus and set it to infinity. This is a processed image from my t2i at ISO6400.

Wow, you captured a lot! What was the exposure length and lens settings?

I like it...has an almost "painting" quality to it.

And I see you captured Brocchi's Cluster (external link) nicely. :)

Thanks, I appreciate it! shutter speed was 30 seconds and I used the 18-55mm IS lens at 18mm.

I think if I took my time it could have came out better but I thought focusing it to infinity would have worked better but I'm not totally happy with it.

About setting the focus, I have read to back off of infinity by one click when shooting the stars...I am not sure why, but I have read this in a few posts.

How are you liking the T2i? Do you like how it feels in your hands?

The t2i is a very good camera for the money. It's a little small for my hands so I am getting the grip. I should have it this week.
