Look at the same product picture being sold here:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com …_Turtle_Base_Century.html
You can see that it should include a black grip head which goes on the 5/8 stud on the C-stand, and then connects your 40" boom arm.
If you want to attach your manfrotto umbrella adaptor to the end of the boom, you're going to need a super clamp and 5/8" pin along with it... You don't need the super clam or the 5/8" pin. The gobo arm has a 5/8" diameter and you can just attach your umbrella adapter on the end (Just like what Jannie said...)
in this photo, i am using the other end of the 40" gobo arm to hold the umbrella adapter. Ill take a better photo if you'd like. In the photo, you do not see the baby 5/8" brass stud. you just see black.
The black c-stand scratches TOO easily - keep that in mind when you think either chrome or black.

Thanks for the answer.
Hmm I wonder if this the best option then? Do you have any other suggestions? Does these seem like overkill for my intended use. I do want to get an elinchrom ranger quandra + beauty dish too in the near future...
I own 5 of the Avenger A2030 Kits - The same ones that starcentral recommended, and I can tell you that this is WAY TO OVERKILL for on location work.
When you pick your stands you must consider a couple of things namely (1) weight of the light stand, (2) weight of the light you are holding up and (3) where you are using this thing. There are other things to consider like maximum height and minimum height but we wont talk about that.
This light stand kit weighs 13 lbs per light stand. I carry anywhere between 3-5 of them for on location work and by the time i've got things set up, My arm is KILLING ME! I honestly wish, i never bought them. They are the nicest stands, but for my personal use, they are WAY to overkill. I use them with Einsteins, and whatnot. I was attached to them because of their gobo arm, I'd recommend you to just buy a normal lightstand and just add a boom to it.
The Manfrotto 1004BAC is another set of light stands that i use. The Avenger A2030D and the Manfrotto 1004BAC are similar in that they carry the same amount of weight (22 lbs), but the 1004BAC weight 6.6 lbs as oppose to the c-stand weight 13 lbs.
I've also got the 1005BAC and that one can extend to 9', and have a weight of 4.5 lbs. It can carry 22 lbs as well.
I use the 1004BAC for backgrounds as they can go up to 12' tall, and the 1005BAC for when i don't need to use the gobo arm.
Why the BAC stands? (1) The BAC stands can be folded flat and stacked, (2) they are half the weight of the c-stands, (3) they hold up the same amount of weight, and (4) they have air cushioning.
i'd like to add nano stands to the mix, but that'll be later one next year.
I hope this helps.
