Looking at purchasing one for my 50D (which I love!!!). Will be utilizing for cars and the occasional wedding. Can't afford the Canon version :(, at this time.

Any experiences and/or suggestions?

Thanks in advance...

You don't want the Canon version anyway. The 15mm FE is designed for FF, and will show very little fisheye effect on your 50D.

Peleng 8mm is a good MF rectilinear option. Sigma makes an 8mm and 4.5mm circular.

I love the Sigma 10mm fisheye on a 1.6 crop body.

These were taken at the 2009 Bathurst 1000 on a 40D

Some of those pics look good while some seem distorted too much for a fish eye. Nice nonetheless

I vote TOKINA 10-17 - the best bang for the buck for aps-c (I use it on my 5D Mark II as well from 14mm)...

Haha sorry, I meant compared to the 15mm fish eye I shoot with. The fish eye with my 1d has I smoother rounded out effect. Maybe the 8mm being extremely wide curves out more than I thought it would. Some places look like it 'fish eyed' twice. Idk, to each their own

well yeah...10mm is significantly wider than 15mm.

How about the Samyang 8mm F 2.8 Fisheye? I have the Rokinon badged version. Many examples of it at this gallery (photo exifs that show F stop value of 00 are shot with it):

Tokina 10-17 is a nice lens and you can control the degree of distortion via the focal length. At 17mm it's minimal and makes a good wide angle lens.

I have the Pro-Optic 8mm branded version of the Samyang and I am happy with the pictures plus it is only $279.95.
