Sigma 120-400 OS
Sigma 50-500 non-OS
Sigma 150-500 OS

If you saw the prices you might imagine how I found myself in this quandry, but I'll give you a hint. In the face of a good deal, I act irrationally.

These three lenses will be on my doorstep early next week. I'd really like to keep one for surfing photos but I don't really need it for day-to-day use. (Yes, this was a too-good-to-be-true impulse purchase.)

So, do I return them all? Or should I resell them all? Or, should I unbox the 150-500 and keep it for myself?

I've been reading the virtues of each lens and it's close to being a toss-up. The 50-150 is much sharper but doesn't have OS. The 120-400 doesn't have such extreme range but is lighter and it's $70-$100 less than the other two.

Unless better advice comes along, I'm probably going to keep the 150-500 and try selling the other two.

........ or trade one for the Canon 10-22mm I've been wanting. By the way, I've got a 55-250mm so I'm not going to be left telephotoless.

Replacing my Canon 7D, Tokina 12-24mm, Canon 17-55mm, Sigma 30mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4, and 150-500mm with a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000. I still have the 17-55 and the 30 available for sale.

Can't you return the lenses to the store? For the amount of money you're going to lose on this, you might as well buy the 100-400L (although you might miss the 400-500). ;)

Any or all of the lenses can be returned (as long as I don't open the boxes) with no return shipping charges.

I'm leaning towards keeping the 150-500mm OS.

Can recommend the 150-500mm OS - excellent lens for wildlife photography. Not sure about surfing shots but wouldn't you need something faster than any of the ones you have listed eg: the 120-300 f/2.8 recommended by plasticmotif?

The 120-300 takes a 1.4 converter with no perceivable degredation to IQ. It's an amazing lens. I've seen them sell for 1400 used.

I'm still trying to figure out why you bought 3 similar lenses that you're not sure you even need.
