You know, every thread like this makes me wish for (and wonder the reason for the lack of) more options for super-telephoto lenses that would fall in the massive price range gap between the Canon 400 5.6L ($1270) and the next effective option, the Canon 300 2.8L ($4500). I would love it if they would offer some ~$2250 and ~$3500 options.

Perhaps they could offer something like a 500 5.6L, 600 5.6L, and perhaps even some 1/3rd stop options like a 400 4.5 or 5.0L. The price jump is just too large.

Thank god there are some Sigma lenses available to cover this gap.


Regardless, 'grats. I am quite jealous.
